Frequently Asked Questions About Towing

When it comes to towing, there’s a lot of misconceptions out there. We wanted to take some time to clear up some of the most common questions we hear when it comes to towing.

Will towing damage my transmission?

We like to put like this…anything done the wrong way can cause damage to your vehicle. But when it comes to Trolling Towing, this simply isn’t an issue. We’ve been towing vehicles for more than 10 years and in that time we’ve worked with thousands of vehicles without any transmission issues.

How much will this cost?

Without knowing the details of your situation it’s difficult to say. We can say this however: Trolling Towing is one of the most affordable towing companies in the metro area. We know that you don’t have time to shop around in an emergency situation but you can be sure that when you call Trolling Towing you’re getting one of the best prices in Colorado.

I’m locked out- can you help?

We sure can. Deal with lockouts is just one part of our 24 hour roadside assistance service. We also offer winch outs, jump starts and flat repairs to name a few. Remember, when you need help, Trolling Towing is here.

Are you open?

Yes! Because we’re open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week the answer to this question is always…yes! Breakdowns and flats happen at the worst times which why is we’re always available and ready to help.

Are you licensed and insured?

Of course! Everything we do at Trolling Towing Inc is 100% above board including or license and insurance. Never work with a company that can’t handle these basic requirements- it isn’t worth whatever price break they give you.

What To Do If Your Vehicle Breaks Down

Having a sudden breakdown is scary, frustrating and almost always unexpected. It’s important to be prepared in advance so you know exactly what to do in the moment. Of course contacting a towing company is on the list but there’s a lot you need to take care of before you even pick up the phone!

Here’s the breakdown:

Activate Your Hazard Lights

If your vehicle is in motion, immediately turn on your hazard lights at the first sign of problem. This will let other drivers now that your car or truck isn’t working and most importantly it will give them a heads up that you may be driving erractically.

Safely Pull Over

Try to pull over with whatever momentum you have. If at all possible, move your vehicle to the right side of the road. The right side generally has MUCH more room and is the expected spot for broken down vehicles. However, don’t get into an accident trying to get over and if you have to then move into the left lane.

Align Your Wheel

Turn your wheel away from the road. You want to make sure that if you do get hit from behind your vehicle moves further into the guard rail and not into traffic.

However, use your judgement. If it’s more dangerous to be pushed to the right then try to align your vehicle directly straight.

Activate Your Emergency Break

Make sure your emergency break is on. Again, if you get hit from behind by an unaware driver you want to limit your vehicle’s movement as much as possible.

Evaluate What You Can

If you consider yourself pretty comfortable around a vehicle then take some time to see what’s going on. But make sure that you check EVERYWHERE before you get out of the vehicle.

Remember, your pulled over on the side of the road and no one is expecting you to come outside of the vehicle. You’ve got to stay safe above all else and that means making sure your surroundings are safe.

Once your outside the vehicle, you take a look at your vehicle. Are the tires intact? Is there smoke? Any visible damage?

Pop Your Hood

A popped hood is pretty much the universal signal for a broken down vehicle. It also helps your vehicle stand out and indicates that someone is near the vehicle. Between that and your hazard lights, you’ve just made yourself much more visible which means you’re a lot safer too.

Call For Help

Make the call to someone that can help. Trolling Towing Inc can help with towing or any kind of roadside assistance. The important part is not to try and do it on your own. Roadside work is dangerous and shouldn’t be taken on without the proper support.

Stay Safe

Once help is on the way, it’s time to make sure you’re staying safe. That usually means waiting in your car but depending on where you’re parked that might not be the best spot to be. Check all your options but always keep your safety as the number on priority.

About Denver, Colorado

Trolling Towing’s Denver location is located between the quickly growing Green Valley Ranch neighborhood and the Denver International Airport.

This means we’re in a great position to assist residents of the north metro area and those flying in or out of DIA. Green Valley Ranch only has a population of about 40,000 residents but it’s growing year after year. This master-planned community is rapidly gaining a reputation for having amazing golf courses!

While you might not think of needing a towing service near an airport it happens more than you think! Most people park in the economy lot during a trip which means your vehicle is exposed to the elements for several days.

The cold nights and warm days of Colorado mean that your car is going through a roller coaster of weather. As a result, we see a lot of dead batteries in the DIA parking lot. Luckily, we’re just a short drive up Pena Blvd to get you jumped or towed.

We Can’t Wait To Work With You

We love serving the residents of Denver and the entire state of Colorado. Give us a call today!
